Luce 2020

Der große Luce 2020 aus dem Hause Frescobaldi präsentiert sich in intensiver rubinroter Farbe. In der Nase zeichnet er sich durch seine Komplexität und Dichte aus, die von reifen schwarzen Früchten, insbesondere Brombeeren und Maulbeeren, geprägt ist. Dazu gesellen sich Noten von Mokka und eine subtile Holzwürze. Am Gaumen mit kraftvoller, würziger Frucht, lebendig und druckvoll, unterlegt von festen, perfekt integrierten Tanninen, die einen eleganten und anhaltenden Abgang verleihen.

The 2020 growing season saw alternating spells of rainfall and heat, but fortunately there was no struggle with disease and the harvest was early and healthy. The nose is dense and powerful, exhibiting lush black fruits and chocolate, and it became more perfumed with aeration. The attack is zesty and vigorous, spicy and assertive, but there's no excessive extraction and the tannins are polished. Despite a hint of tar and liquorice, the black fruits dominate. Well balanced, with both grip and texture, and a very long finish, this will age well. Decanter

The nose starts off wild and herbal expanding into the scents of a classroom full of pencils and erasers and new leather bags with a whiff of vanilla-cherry cola. The spiced densely fruity palate shifts to the indulgence of a slice of cake soaked in rum. Wine Enthusiast

Well-marked by vanilla from the new oak this also features flavors of black currant blackberry flowers and iron. Racy even with vibrant acidity and a line of dusty tannins lingering on the finish. Comes together with air so give this a few years to absorb the oak. Sangiovese and Merlot. Wine Spectator

Solid and centred alternating notes of sour cherries strawberries black prunes blackberries cherries fondant chocolate and mandarin blossom. Full bodied very smooth tannins of optimum workmanship and an agile dynamic finale which moves well through its progression. Pleasurable and essesntial. Stephen Tanzer
